Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Nassau: Giants (#1) and Defenders (#5). Giants (5-0) smashed visiting Defenders (1-4) by 37 points 104-67. Giants dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Defenders' 38. Giants forced 26 Defenders turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Defenders' players. The winners were led by the former international power forward Eugene Bain (195-88, college: Bellevue) who scored that evening 19 points and 9 rebounds and Adam Johnson supported him with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Five Giants players scored in double figures. Giants' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Even a double-double of 24 points and 19 rebounds by Gregory Seymour did not help to save the game for Defenders. Clayton Tucker added 11 points for the guests. Giants have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 5-0 record. Loser Defenders keep the fifth place with four games lost.
