Regular Season Round 8: Mahram - Gorgan 67-66

Superleague round 8 caused change at the leadership position. First defeat of league's leader Gorgan (7-1) against fourth ranked Mahram (7-1) 67-66 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Gorgan. 26 personal fouls committed by Gorgan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international forward Mohammad Nikkhah (199-83) saved the victory by scoring 21 points and 5 assists. The former international Arsalan Kazemi (200-90, college: Oregon) contributed with 6 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTRGV) replied with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds and international guard Navid Rezaeifar (185-96) added 10 points in the effort for Gorgan. Gorgan's coach Mehran Shahintab rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mahram moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Gorgan. Gorgan will play next round against Kerman trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Mahram will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Shahrdari BA in Abbass.
