Regular Season Round 5: Ramat Hasharon - M.Haifa 82-80

The most exciting game of round 5 in the D1 took place in Hasharon. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked M.Haifa (2-3) to second ranked Ramat Hasharon (4-1) 82-80 on Monday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of M.Haifa. Ramat Hasharon looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Khadijiah Cave (190-95, college: Baylor) who scored 20 points and 6 rebounds. International swingman Mariam Hannoun (178-94, college: Eckerd, agency: Ron Sport) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Five Ramat Hasharon players scored in double figures. American swingman Alex Harden (180-93, college: Wichita St., agency: Ron Sport) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import forward Kristi Bellock (186-90, college: Texas A&M) added 20 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Ramat Hasharon have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 4-1 record behind leader Ramat Gan. Newly promoted M.Haifa dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Ramat Hasharon are looking forward to face Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#5) on the road in the next round. M.Haifa will play against Raanana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
