An exciting game was played in Denver. First ranked Lakers faced their close opponent Nuggets. Guests from Los Angeles (17-4) defeated host Nuggets (13-5) 105-96. They outrebounded Nuggets 56-35 including a 42-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lakers players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Nuggets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. LeBron James (203-84) notched 25 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the effort and center Anthony Davis (208-93, college: Kentucky) supported him with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Four Lakers players scored in double figures. Even 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists by Canadian swingman Jamal Murray (198-97, college: Kentucky) did not help to save the game for Nuggets. Forward Paul Millsap (203-85, college: Louisiana Tech) added 21 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lakers maintains first position with 17-4 record which they share with defeated Nuggets. Nuggets at the other side still keep top place with five games lost. Lakers' next day opponent will be league's second-placed Jazz in Salt Lake City and it will be for sure the game of the week.
