Regular Season Round 8: Wisla Krakow - AZS Uniw.Gd. 65-40

Very expected game when bottom-ranked AZS Uniw.Gd. (0-10) was crushed on the road by seventh ranked Wisla Krakow (4-5) 65-40 on Tuesday. Wisla Krakow dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to AZS Uniw.Gd.'s 22. Wisla Krakow forced 25 AZS Uniw.Gd. turnovers. It was a great evening for American point guard Chloe Wells (173-92, college: Duke) who led her team to a victory scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 9 steals. Lithuanian forward Gabija Meskonyte (181-98, agency: Two Points) helped adding 17 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side swingman Agata Stepien (168-95) responded with 14 points and point guard Paulina Kuras (170-92) scored 8 points and 4 assists. Despite that victory Wisla Krakow went down to eighth position due to points difference. AZS Uniw.Gd. lost their tenth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with ten games lost. Wisla Krakow will face higher ranked AZS UMCS (#4) in Lublin in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AZS Uniw.Gd. will play on the road against Enea AZS P. (#9) in Poznan and hopes to get finally their first victory.
