Regular Season Round 5: Piestanske C. - Kangoeroes 66-55

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Belgian Kangoeroes (2-1) in Piestany on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Slovakian Piestanske C. (3-1) 66-55. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kangoeroes. It was a key game for the top position in Group A. Piestanske C. looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Jessica January (170-95, college: DePaul) stepped up and scored 13 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals for the winners and Croatian point guard Matea Tadic (167-99) chipped in 7 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Piestanske C.'s coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Jessica Lindstrom (185-96, college: Green Bay, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds and the other American import forward Alexis Klabo (188, college: N.Dakota, agency: LBM Management) scored 17 points. Piestanske C. keeps a position of Group A leader, which they share with Chomutov. Kangoeroes at the other side dropped to the third place with one game lost. Piestanske C. is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Slovanka MB (#5) in Vodochody in the next round. Kangoeroes will have a break next round.
