An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Helsinki. First ranked Seagulls faced 3rd ranked Kauhajoki. Host Seagulls (15-3) defeated guests from Kauhajoki (11-7) 72-66. It looked good early as Kauhajoki took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Seagulls had a 20-18 second period charge getting the lead and Kauhajoki was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-72. It was a good game for Canadian guard Trae Bell-Haynes (188-95, college: Vermont) who led his team to a victory with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Elijah Stewart (196-95, college: USC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Seagulls' coach Jussi Laakso allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Juan Davis (203-96, college: Troy) replied with 12 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Okko Jarvi (193-96, agency: Blacktop Management) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Kauhajoki. Seagulls maintains first position with 15-3 record. Defending champion Kauhajoki keeps the third place with seven games lost. Seagulls will play against BC Nokia (#5) on the road in the next round. Kauhajoki will play against Kataja and hopes to get back on the winning track.
