Regular Season Round 15: Nova Ves - Lucenec 85-84

The most exciting game of round 15 in the SBL took place in Nova Ves. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Lucenec (8-6) to eighth ranked Nova Ves (4-9) 85-84 on Wednesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Nova Ves made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American guard Eric Nottage (187-94, college: FIU, agency: YoungGroup Unlimited) who saved his team from a defeat with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. His fellow American import forward Evan Maxwell (208-95, college: Ind.Wesleyan, agency: Players Group) contributed with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Nottage is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Puerto Rican-American Melsahn Basabe (201-92, college: Iowa) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and American point guard Mike Caffey (183-93, college: LBSU) added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Lucenec. Four Nova Ves and five Lucenec players scored in double figures. Nova Ves maintains eighth place with 4-9 record. Lucenec at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Nova Ves are looking forward to face higher ranked Prievidza (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lucenec will have a break next round.
