Very significant was Czech Zabiny Brno's (#1, 4-0) victory against second-ranked German BC Pharmaserv Marburg (2-1) 88-72. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BC Pharmaserv Marburg. Zabiny Brno forced 19 BC Pharmaserv Marburg turnovers and outrebounded them 39-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Michaela Vackova (179-93) who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Michaela Vondrackova (175-91) chipped in 17 points and 4 steals. Swingman Finja Schaake (179-92) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Candice White (173, college: Fresno St., agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) added 13 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zabiny Brno have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place in Group B with 4-0 record. Loser BC Pharmaserv Marburg keeps the second position with one game lost. Zabiny Brno will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BC Pharmaserv Marburg will play against the league's second-placed Spirou Ladies Charleroi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
