Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (4-8) was defeated at home by second ranked Flamengo (10-2) 79-66 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Flamengo. Paschoalotto/Bauru was better in third quarter 13-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Flamengo forced 20 Paschoalotto/Bauru turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Olivinha Rodriguez (203-83) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Argentinian point guard Franco Balbi (185-89) who added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Flamengo's coach Gustavo Conti used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Argentinian point guard Lucas Faggiano (188-89, college: LIU Brooklyn) with 15 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Renato Carbonari (206-87) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Defending champion maintains second position with 10-2 record having just one point less than leader Franca. Loser Paschoalotto/Bauru keeps the thirteenth place with eight games lost. Flamengo will face Rio Claro (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Paschoalotto/Bauru will play against Sao Paulo and hope to win that game.
