Regular Season Round 45: OKC Thunder - Minnesota T. 139-127

There was a small surprise in Oklahoma City where fifth ranked Thunder (9-12) beat 3rd placed Timberwolves (10-11) 139-127 on Friday. Thunder made 36-of-40 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game, while Timberwolves only scored fourteen points from the stripe. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Thunder made 9 blocks. Timberwolves were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Chris Paul (183-85, college: Wake Forest) who scored 30 points and 7 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Canadian point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (198-98, college: Kentucky) chipped in 29 points and 5 rebounds (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!). At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Jeff Teague (188-88, college: Wake Forest) who recorded 32 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists and Dominican-American power forward Karl-Anthony Towns (213-95, college: Kentucky) added 30 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Thunder moved-up to fourth place. Timberwolves lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with 11 games lost.
