Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked HLA Alicante (5-7) lost at home to second ranked Carramimbre (10-2) 81-77 on Friday. Carramimbre had a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. HLA Alicante was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for center Sergio De-La-Fuente (198-89) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Michael Torres (188-94) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American point guard Justin Pitts (178-94, college: NW Missouri St., agency: Duran International) replied with 32 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Senegalese center Bamba Fall (217-86, college: SMU, agency: Players Group) added 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for HLA Alicante. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Carramimbre have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. HLA Alicante lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth place with seven games lost. Carramimbre will face Leyma Basquet (#7) in Coruna in the next round where they are favorite. HLA Alicante will play on the road against Caceres Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
