Regular Season Round 18: Kobrat - Kouvot 88-77

An interesting game took place in Lapua, where higher ranked Kouvot (9-8) lost to ninth ranked Kobrat (6-12) in a road game 77-88 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kouvot. The game without a history. Kobrat led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Kouvot's players. American players dominated also this game. The best player for the winners was power forward Reggie Keely (204-91, college: Ohio, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Jordan Capps (201-95, college: SE Louisiana) chipped in 26 points and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Derrick Barden-Jr (196-92, college: N.Colorado) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and guard Silas Melson (193-96, college: Gonzaga) added 25 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) respectively. Kouvot's coach Tuomas Oja let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kobrat maintains ninth position with 6-12 record. Loser Kouvot dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. Kobrat will face league's second-placed Vilpas in Salo in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
