Regular Season Round 19: Aisin AW - Kagoshima 115-75

Very expected game in Aichi where 7th ranked Kagoshima (9-9) was crushed by third ranked Aisin AW (12-7) 115-75 on Saturday. Aisin AW dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Kagoshima's 36. Aisin AW had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 61.9 percentage. Aisin AW looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Kenshin Urabe (188-95) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Fujita Shunsuke (187-93) helped adding 23 points and 5 steals. At the losing side American forward Shelton Boykin (198-92, college: Angelo St.) responded with 37 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and the other American import forward Chris Washburn (203-93, college: TCU) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aisin AW maintains third place with 12-7 record having five points less than leader Iwate Big Bulls. Loser Kagoshima dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. Aisin AW will face again Kagoshima (#8) in Renova in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
