Regular Season Round 12: AZS PCz - MKS DG 2 97-60

Very important is a road loss of third ranked MKS DG 2 (8-3) against sixth ranked AZS PCz (6-5) on Saturday night. Visiting MKS DG 2 was crushed by AZS PCz in Czestochowa 97-60. AZS PCz dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to MKS DG 2's 24. They outrebounded MKS DG 2 54-32 including a 42-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. AZS PCz players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by MKS DG 2's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for Piotr Lucka (194-96) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Dawid Jozefowski (184-96) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Power forward Przemyslaw Paduch (202-3) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and Dawid Boryka (188-97) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for MKS DG 2. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. AZS PCz moved-up to fifth place in Group C, which they share with Pogon RS and Jaworzno. MKS DG 2 at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. AZS PCz's next round opponent will be higher ranked AZS AWF Mick. (#4) in Katowice and it may be quite challenging game. MKS DG 2 will play at home against the league's second-placed AZS AGH KR and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
