Regular Season Round 18: Vilpas - BC Nokia 77-74

Fourth-ranked BC Nokia (9-7) made lots of trouble for second ranked Vilpas (14-3) in Salo on Saturday. Vilpas managed to secure only three-point victory 77-74. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BC Nokia. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was forward DJ Laster (198-96, college: Gardner-Webb) who scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Chris Flemmings (197-94, college: UNCW) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four Vilpas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Stacy Davis (199-94, college: Pepperdine, agency: Slash Sports) who recorded 20 points and guard Demarcus Holland (193-94, college: Texas) added 11 points respectively. BC Nokia's coach Greg Gibson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Vilpas maintains second position with 14-3 record behind leader Seagulls. BC Nokia at the other side dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. Vilpas are looking forward to face Kobrat (#9) in Lapua in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BC Nokia will play at home against the league's leader Seagulls (#1) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
