Regular Season Round 13: CD Valdivia - Puerto Montt 67-63

Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Puerto Montt (6-8) was defeated on the road by second ranked Deportivo Valdivia (8-5) 67-63 on Saturday. Argentinian point guard Nicolas Ferreyra (185-85) stepped up and scored 22 points and 8 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and Argentinian center Ignacio Alessio (203-87) chipped in 14 points and 16 rebounds. At the losing side Canadian point guard Alex Johnson (178-88, college: NC State) responded with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American power forward Jarett Croff (208, college: AUM, agency: Haylett Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Four Puerto Montt players scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains second place with 8-5 record having just one point less than leader Las Animas, which they share with CD Castro. Puerto Montt at the other side dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. Deportivo Valdivia will face AB Ancud (#6) on the road in the next round. Puerto Montt will play against Universidad Catolica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
