Regular Season Round 10: PAOK - AEK 67-71

Very predictable result in Thessaloniki where fourth ranked AEK (7-4) defeated 11th ranked PAOK (3-7) 71-67 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But PAOK won third quarter 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when AEK won last quarter 16-14. Cuban forward Howard Sant-Roos (200-91) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian forward Jonas Maciulis (198-85) chipped in 12 points during the contest. At the losing side American point guard JeQuan Lewis (185-94, college: VCU) responded with 24 points and 4 assists and the former international center Zisis Sarikopoulos (213-90, college: Ohio St.) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. AEK have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 7-4 record. PAOK at the other side keeps the eleventh place with seven games lost. AEK will have a break next round. PAOK will play on the road against Lavrio (#8) and hope to win that game.
