A very close game took place in Mexico between Aaguacateros and Capitanes. Fourth ranked Aaguacateros (17-11) got a very close victory on the road over second-best Capitanes (19-7). Aaguacateros managed to escape with a 2-point win 101-99 on Saturday evening. Aaguacateros made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. American guard Donald Sims (185-87, college: Appalachian St., agency: Pensack Sports) scored 36 points (!!!) and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Avry Holmes (188-94, college: Clemson, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 23 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots) during the contest. Aaguacateros' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Panamanian forward Ernesto Oglivie (203-89) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and forward Moises Andriassi (185-99) scored 18 points and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Capitanes players scored in double figures. Aaguacateros maintains fourth position with 17-11 record. Capitanes at the other side keep the second place with seven games lost. Aaguacateros will meet at home Abejas (#6) in the next round. Capitanes will play against Fuerza Regia (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
