Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Flying Leopards (9-5) defeated 16th ranked Long-Lions (5-9) in Guangzhou 123-115 on Saturday. Flying Leopards made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game, while Long-Lions only scored nine points from the stripe. Flying Leopards had a 34-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Long-Lions were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for American swingman Lance Stephenson (196-90, college: Cincinnati) who helped to win the game recording 32 points and 8 rebounds. The former international Ailun Guo (192-93) contributed with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American point guard Keifer Sykes (183-93, college: Green Bay, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 assists and Canadian Andrew Nicholson (206-89, college: St.Bonaventure) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Long-Lions. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Flying Leopards moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Jilin NE T. Loser Long-Lions keep the sixteenth position with nine games lost. Flying Leopards will face Monkey Kings (#12) in Jiangsu in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Long-Lions will play on the road against Beijing Ducks (#4) and hope to win that game.
