Regular Season Round 10: Filippos Veroias - Dafni 81-84

A very close game took place in Veria between Dafni and Filippos Veroias. Ninth ranked Dafni (4-5) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked Filippos Veroias (3-6). Dafni managed to escape with a 3-point win 84-81 on Saturday evening. Power forward Panagiotis Filippakos (203-94) had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Andreas Kanonidis (200-91) chipped in 18 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Efthimis Kothras (193-81) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and center Kantarkos Rizos (202-83) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds. Four Dafni and five Filippos Veroias players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dafni moved-up to eighth place. Filippos Veroias at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Dafni will meet at home bottom-ranked Napfliou (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Filippos Veroias will play against Tritonas S. (#14) in Athens and hope to secure a win.
