Regular Season Round 12: Unia Tarnow - UR Krakow 80-90

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Unia Tarnow (0-11) was defeated at home by eighth ranked UR Krakow (6-6) 90-80 on Saturday. UR Krakow outrebounded Unia Tarnow 48-32 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Unia Tarnow was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Tomasz Palmowski (199-97) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and Adrian Warszawski (201-96) who added 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four UR Krakow players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Blazej Karlik (192-97) with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Patryk Halka (178-1) scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted UR Krakow maintains eighth position in Group C with 6-6 record. Loser Unia Tarnow still closes the standings with 11 games lost. UR Krakow will have a break next round. Unia Tarnow will play on the road against Polonia Bytom (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
