Regular Season Round 30: Laguneros - Santos 85-95

There was a minor upset in Torreon where their close opponent Laguneros (1-28) were defeated by eighth ranked Santos (9-18) 95-85 on Saturday. Santos dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Laguneros' 40. The best player for the winners was American center BJ West (211-89, college: Jackson St.) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 16 rebounds (on 15-of-17 shooting from the field). Dominican guard Miguel Dicent (190-94, college: Morehead St.) chipped in 19 points and 7 assists. Santos' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward John Taylor (185-89, college: Fresno Pacific, agency: Promotex) who recorded 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import forward Trent Steen (203, college: UAPB, agency: One Motive Sports) added 16 points and 15 rebounds respectively. Four Laguneros players scored in double figures. Santos maintains eighth position with 9-18 record which they share with defeated Laguneros. Laguneros lost twenty third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 28 games lost. Santos will face higher ranked Astros (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
