There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Mantova (2-8) edged at home 4th placed Bolzano BK (7-3) 51-50 on Saturday. It was a great evening for guard Giulia Monica (169-87) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Viviana Giordano (167-89) helped adding 13 points and 7 rebounds. Croatian center Katarina Trehub (191-97) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and center Meriem Nasraoui (185-2) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Bolzano BK's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Mantova maintains thirteenth place in A2 with 2-8 record. Loser Bolzano BK keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Mantova will face Vicenza (#14) on the road in the next round. Bolzano BK will play against Milano (#11) and hope to win that game.
