Regular Season Round 9: Uptown Cuts - Rockets 94-102

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Nassau: Rockets (#2) and Uptown Cuts (#5). Uptown Cuts were defeated at home 94-102 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Strangely Uptown Cuts outrebounded Rockets 64-48 including 23 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Uptown Cuts were plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Able Joseph nailed a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals for the winning side and Ryan Turnquest accounted for 24 points. Forward Adorn Charlow (196, college: Three Rivers CC) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds and forward Salathiel Dean added 19 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Uptown Cuts in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Uptown Cuts' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rockets (4-1) keep a position of league leader, which they share with Bahamas Univ. Newly promoted Uptown Cuts keep the fifth place with four games lost. Rockets' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Nassau to the arena Rebels.
