There was a small surprise when sixth ranked AB Ancud (4-9) beat at home 4th placed Temuco (6-7) 89-71 on Saturday. They outrebounded Temuco 48-31 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Argentinian Lisandro Rasio (198-90, agency: Pro Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and international guard Sebastian Suarez (193-91, college: Portland St.) chipped in 22 points and 14 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Kenny Wormley (193-96, college: Hofstra) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and A Sainrtilus produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. AB Ancud maintains sixth place with 4-9 record. Temuco at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. AB Ancud will face higher ranked Deportivo Valdivia (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Temuco will play against Quilicura and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
