Regular Season Round 11: Viterbo - Cagliari V. 60-57

There was a minor upset when 11th ranked Cagliari V. (3-7) was edged on the road by thirteenth ranked Viterbo (3-7) 60-57 on Saturday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Viterbo made 8 blocks. It was a great evening for center Adriana Cutrupi (186-96) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Latvian forward Ieva Veinberga (187-84) helped adding 14 points and 8 rebounds. The former international power forward Federica Brunetti (184-88, agency: SPORTlab Agency) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds and Bulgarian point guard Iva Georgieva (170-96, college: Salt Lake CC) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Viterbo moved-up to eleventh place in A2. Viterbo will face higher ranked Cagliari CUS (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cagliari V. will play against HS Lab (#15) and hope to win that game.
