The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked KK Zadar's (3-4) home victory over 8th ranked FSV Rijeka (1-6) 82-53 on Saturday. KK Zadar forced 20 FSV Rijeka turnovers and outrebounded them 39-25 including 30 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Ana Vrsaljko (188-84) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Ivana Dujic (168-95) accounted for 20 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. Naturalized Bosnian point guard Anja Perko (170-0) came up with 21 points and Laura Basek (-0) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for FSV Rijeka in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. KK Zadar moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Zagreb. FSV Rijeka lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Split. KK Zadar will meet at home Plamen Pozega (#7) in the next round. FSV Rijeka will play against Pula C.Tours and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
