Regular Season Round 9: WIT Wildcats - Brunell 96-66

The game between fourth ranked WIT Wildcats (6-3) and 8th ranked Brunell (2-7) in Waterford on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. WIT Wildcats outscored guests from Cork 96-66. WIT Wildcats dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Brunell's 30. They outrebounded Brunell 36-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. WIT Wildcats looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 2 passes made by Brunell's players. The former international forward Stephanie OShea (185-91) nailed 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Jasmine Walker accounted for 17 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Lithuanian point guard Greta Tamasauskaite (177-94, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 18 points and American forward Treyanna Clay (183, college: Iona) added 12 points respectively for Brunell in the defeat. WIT Wildcats have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Glanmire. Loser Brunell keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. WIT Wildcats will meet at home IT Carlow (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Brunell will play against 11890 Killester and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
