Date: December 7, 2019
Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (4-9) was rolled over at home by fifth ranked Monaco (9-2) 101-75 on Saturday. Monaco shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 60.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American point guard Norris Cole (188-88, college: Cleveland St.) stepped up and scored 21 points and 8 assists for the winners and the former international power forward Kim Tillie (210-88, college: Utah) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American point guard Ronald Moore (183-88, college: Siena) responded with 15 points and 8 assists and forward Digue Diawara (205-98) scored 15 points. Five Monaco and four Pau-Lacq-Orthez players scored in double figures. Pau-Lacq-Orthez's coach Laurent Vila already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Monaco. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Pau-Lacq-Orthez keeps the fifteenth position with nine games lost. Monaco will face higher ranked Levallois (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will play against Boulazac Basket (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
