Regular Season Round 11: Crema - Sarcedo 62-29

There was no surprise when 7th ranked Sarcedo (6-5) was outplayed on the road by second ranked Team Crema (8-2) 62-29 on Sunday. Team Crema held Sarcedo to an opponent 13.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.1 percent accuracy of the winners. It was a great evening for Lithuanian power forward Laura Zelnyte (190-94) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Norma Rizzi (172-93) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Francesca Santarelli (175-94) responded with 2 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Marina Fumagalli (175-93) scored 5 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Team Crema maintains second place in A2 with 8-2 record having just two points less than leader Moncalieri. Newly promoted Sarcedo dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Team Crema will have a break next round. Sarcedo will play at home against the league's leader Moncalieri (#1) and hope to win that game.
