Bottom-ranked Zamarat managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of nine consecutive losses on Sunday night. This time they won against thirteenth-ranked Socinsa Bembibre 67-54. Dutch guard Laura Cornelius (173-96, college: Miami, FL) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Brittany McPhee (183-96, college: Stanford) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. Five Zamarat players scored in double figures. Point guard Alejandra Quirante (167-92) answered with 12 points and Croatian guard Inja Butina (175-95, college: Seton Hall) added 14 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) in the effort for Socinsa Bembibre. Zamarat (2-9) moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Bembibre. Zamarat is looking forward to face higher ranked Cadi La Seu (#6) in Seu D'urgell in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Socinsa Bembibre will play on the road against the league's leader Argon Uni Girona (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
