Regular Season Round 9: Nes-Ziona - Rishon 93-88

The most important game in the last round took place in Nes Ziyona between second ranked Rishon (6-2) and sixth ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (5-4) on Sunday night. Rishon was defeated by Ironi Nes-Ziona in a tough game on the road 88-93. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Rishon. Ironi Nes-Ziona looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Jeff Withey (213-90, college: Kansas) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds. The other American import swingman Daequan Cook (196-87, college: Ohio St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Alex Hamilton (193-93, college: Louisiana Tech) produced 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international swingman Adam Ariel (194-94) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Ironi Nes-Ziona and four Rishon players scored in double figures. Ironi Nes-Ziona moved-up to fourth place. Rishon at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. Ironi Nes-Ziona are looking forward to face Hapoel Holon (#5) on the road in the next round. Rishon will play against Galil Gilboa in Rosh Pina and is hoping to win this game.
