Regular Season Round 9: Widzew - Gorzow Wlkp. 77-93

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked AZS Gorzow (6-3) beat 10th ranked Widzew (1-8) in Lodz 93-77. AZS Gorzow dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Widzew's 42. They outrebounded Widzew 40-20 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Kahleah Copper (186-94, college: Rutgers) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 10 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). British forward Cheridene Green (190-95, college: Tennessee) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds. Five AZS Gorzow players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Taylor Emery (178-97, college: Virginia Tech) who recorded 21 points and Serbian forward Katarina Vuckovic (191-94, college: Georgia Tech) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for AZS Gorzow. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with AZS UMCS. Widzew lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
