Regular Season Round 9: Lulea S. - Akropol 87-77

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Akropol (7-4) against seventh ranked Lulea S. (4-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Akropol was defeated by Lulea S. in Lulea 87-77. Akropol was ahead by 12 points at the halftime before a 51-29 second half run of Lulea S.. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Point guard William Eriksson-Hansson (185-98) stepped up and scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and Calvin Jagare chipped in 16 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Lulea S. players scored in double figures. Lulea S.'s coach Maien Engman allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was naturalized Serbian forward Dragan Damjanovic (203-88) with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and Serbian center Milos Tanaskovic (203-93) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Lulea S. moved-up to sixth place in North. Akropol at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. Lulea S. will play against Jamtland 2 (#7) in Ostersund in the next round. Akropol will play at home against Jarfalla (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
