Regular Season Round 9: Maccabi T-A - Holon 94-76

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Tel-Aviv. Top-ranked Maccabi T-A faced 4th ranked Hapoel Holon. Host Maccabi T-A (9-0) defeated guests from Holon (4-4) 94-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hapoel Holon. They outrebounded Hapoel Holon 40-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Maccabi T-A looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Maccabi T-A made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Turkish point guard Scottie Wilbekin (188-93, college: Florida, agency: BeoBasket) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and international forward Deni Avdija (206-1) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A's coach Giannis Sfairopoulos used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International power forward Richard Howell (203-90, college: NC State) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and American guard Marcus Foster (190-95, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 20 points. Maccabi T-A have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 9-0 record. Loser Hapoel Holon dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. Maccabi T-A's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tel-Aviv to the arena Hapoel Tel-Aviv.
