Regular Season Round 13: Los Leones - Puente Alto 74-83

There was no surprise in Quilpue where 3rd placed Los Leones (7-7) were defeated by first ranked Puente Alto (8-4) 83-74 on Sunday. Puente Alto had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Argentinian forward Nicholas Wadell (201-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and American-Nigerien swingman Tanksley Efianayi (198-94, college: UCF) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side Italian-Argentinian center Omar Canton (206-82) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Barham Amor (185-96) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Puente Alto. They maintain first place with 8-4 record. Los Leones at the other side keep the third position with seven games lost. Puente Alto will face league's second-placed Universidad de Concepcion on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Los Leones will play against the league's leader Las Animas in Valdivia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
