Regular Season Round 9: Huddinge - Talje 60-88

Bottom-ranked Huddinge is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to fourth ranked Talje Knights (5-2) 88-60 on Sunday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Talje Knights. Huddinge was better in second period 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Talje Knights dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Huddinge's 28 and made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Talje Knights forced 22 Huddinge turnovers and outrebounded them 50-26 including a 36-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Talje Knights looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Huddinge was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for point guard Mario Blazevic (180-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 assists and 4 steals. Forward Adam Karahmetovic (190-98) contributed with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Five Talje Knights players scored in double figures. Guard Yafet Habtu (185-98) answered with 10 points and 7 assists and Mourad Saleh added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Huddinge. Huddinge's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Talje Knights moved-up to second place in South. Huddinge lost their eighth game in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. Talje Knights will face Eskilstuna (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Huddinge will play against Haga BG in Norrkoping and hopes to get finally their first victory.
