Regular Season Round 10: Aris - Panionios 80-86

There was no surprise in Thessaloniki where 14th ranked Aris (2-9) was defeated by tenth ranked Panionios (4-6) 86-80 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-80. Point guard Baqar Berekashvili (180-4) scored 21 points and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws) to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Tyreek Duren (183-91, college: La Salle) chipped in 19 points during the contest. Panionios' coach Pantelis Gavriel used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Montenegrin forward Vladimir Dragicevic (206-86) responded with 11 points and 9 rebounds and Bosnian forward Milan Milosevic (204-85) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Panionios and five Aris players scored in double figures. Panionios moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Kolossos HH. Aris lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Panionios will face Larissa BC (#12) at home in the next round.
