Regular Season Round 12: Mestre - Vigevano 65-78

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Mestre (3-9) lost at home to eighth ranked Vigevano (6-6) 78-65 on Sunday. Vigevano outrebounded Mestre 34-17 including a 27-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Vigevano especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. It was a good game for power forward Giacomo DellAgnello (199-94) who led his team to a victory with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Giacomo Filippini (204-91) contributed with 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Riccardo Castelli (200-88, agency: Players Group) replied with 21 points and 5 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and forward Marco Lazzaro (198-92) added 19 points in the effort for Mestre. Vigevano moved-up to seventh place in B, which they share with Corona Platina. Newly promoted Mestre dropped to the fourteenth position with nine games lost. Vigevano will face Varese Robur (#12) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Mestre will play against the league's second-placed Padova where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
