Regular Season Round 13: Jilin NE T. - Xinjiang FT 124-107

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Xinjiang FT (11-3) against seventh ranked Jilin Tigers (9-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Xinjiang FT was defeated by Jilin Tigers in Changchun 124-107. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Xinjiang FT. Jilin Tigers made 25-of-28 charity shots (89.3 percent) during the game. American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 51 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). At the losing side the former international center Zhou Qi (217-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds and the former international point guard Tal Co (191-91) scored 22 points and 6 assists. Four Jilin Tigers and five Xinjiang FT players scored in double figures. Xinjiang FT's coach Brian Goorjian rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Jilin Tigers moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Liaoning FL. Xinjiang FT at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. Jilin Tigers will play against Sharks (#14) in Shanghai in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Xinjiang FT will play on the road against Brave Dragons (#3) in Taiyuan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
