Regular Season Round 13: CD Castro - Temuco 97-90

The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked CD Castro's (8-5) home victory over 4th placed Temuco (6-7) 97-90 on Sunday. CD Castro dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Temuco's 30 and made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Temuco was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Cedric Blossom (198-94, college: Morgan St.) stepped up and scored 27 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners and his fellow American import forward Mike Poole (196-92, college: Iona) chipped in 25 points and 8 rebounds. Four CD Castro players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Kenny Wormley (193-96, college: Hofstra) responded with 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and A Sainrtilus produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. CD Castro moved-up to second place, which they share with CD Valdivia. Temuco at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. CD Castro will face CD Puerto Varas (#5) at home in the next round. Temuco will play against Quilicura and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
