Regular Season Round 11: Mann Filter - Ensino 71-68

A very interesting game took place in Zaragoza. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Maquinaria Ensino (4-7) to tenth ranked Mann Filter (4-7) 71-68 in the game for the eighth place. Mann Filter made 19-of-24 charity shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Merritt Hempe (190-94, college: Georgia) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Her fellow American import guard Cierra Dillard (175, college: Buffalo) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Nigerian-American forward Atonye Nyingifa (180-90, college: UCLA) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and Swedish guard Kalis Loyd (188-89, college: Lamar) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Mann Filter moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Ensino and Al-Qazeres. Mann Filter's next round opponent will be higher ranked Araski (#7) in Vitoria-Gasteiz and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
