Rather expected game when 5th ranked Perth Lynx (3-8) lost to second ranked Boomers (9-2) in Melbourne 63-72. Boomers made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Perth Lynx turnovers. Strangely Perth Lynx outrebounded Boomers 39-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Madeleine Garrick (178-92) who scored 17 points and 4 steals. The former international center Cayla George (192-89) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American center Imani McGee-Stafford (201-94, college: Texas) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and her fellow American import swingman Alison Schwagmeyer (177-90, college: Quincy) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Boomers maintains second position with 9-2 record behind leader Southside. Perth Lynx lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with eight games lost. Boomers' next round opponent will be again Perth Lynx (#7) on the road where they are favorite.
