Regular Season Round 13: Beijing Ducks - Shenzhen L. 102-100

The most exciting game of round 13 in the CBA took place in Beijing. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Leopards (7-7) to fifth ranked Beijing Ducks (10-4) 102-100 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Leopards. Beijing Ducks made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Leopards 47-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. Beijing Ducks looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Beijing Ducks made 11 blocks. 24 personal fouls committed by Leopards helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian-American power forward Ekpe Udoh (208-87, college: Baylor) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 19 rebounds and 8 blocks (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). Taiwanese-American point guard Jeremy Lin (190-88, college: Harvard) contributed with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. Swingman Xining He (193-97) answered with 26 points and guard Yang Linyi (190-95) added 21 points and 4 assists in the effort for Leopards. Four Leopards players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Beijing Ducks moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Guangsha L. Leopards at the other side dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Beijing Ducks is looking forward to face Long-Lions (#16) in Guangzhou in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Leopards will play on the road against Eagles (#15) in Qingdao and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
