Date: December 8, 2019
Everything went according to plan in Takamatsu where second ranked Kagawa FA (15-6) beat 4th placed FE Nagoya (12-11) 94-81 on Sunday. Kagawa FA dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to FE Nagoya's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. His fellow American import forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) helped adding 18 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kagawa FA players scored in double figures. American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU, agency: Wasserman) responded with 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Kei Sugimoto (182-92) scored 16 points and 8 assists. FE Nagoya's coach tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kagawa FA maintains second place with 15-6 record having just two points less than leader Shinshu BW. Loser FE Nagoya dropped to the third position with 11 games lost. Kagawa FA will face Kumamoto V. (#4) on the road in the next round. FE Nagoya will play against Tokyo EX and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
