Regular Season Round 19: Kouvot - Kataja 84-88

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when eighth ranked Kataja (9-9) beat 7th ranked Kouvot (9-10) in Kouvola 88-84. Kouvot was ahead by 12 points at the halftime before a 36-17 third quarter run of Kataja. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Kouvot's 40. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American forward Brandon Walters (208-95, college: MTSU) fired 30 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Jamaican-Canadian point guard Jarred Ogungbemi-Jackson (178-91, college: Calgary) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. American guard Silas Melson (193-96, college: Gonzaga) produced 30 points and the other American import forward Duke Shelton (208-95, college: Tampa) added 12 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Kataja and four Kouvot players scored in double figures. Kataja moved-up to seventh place. Kouvot lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
