Regular Season Round 18: Shimane SM - Hitachi SRT 71-79

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (14-4) defeated on the road 6th ranked Shimane Magic (6-12) 79-71 on Monday. Hitachi Sunrockers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was Ryan Kelly (211-91, college: Duke) who scored 27 points. Center Charles Jackson (208-93, college: Tenn Tech) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Robert Carter (206-94, college: Maryland) who recorded 29 points and 8 rebounds and center Brian Qvale (208-88, college: Montana) added 17 points and 14 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hitachi Sunrockers have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Tochigi B. Newly promoted Shimane Magic keeps the sixth place with 12 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Toyota Alvark.
