Regular Season Round 10: Exxon SC - Raad 83-61

Date: December 9, 2019
Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Raad (2-9) was outscored by ninth ranked Exxon SC (5-6) in Teheran 83-61 on Monday. Exxon SC outrebounded Raad 37-26 including a 29-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 65.0 percentage. Exxon SC looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Exxon SC made 8 blocks. International forward Navid Khajezadeh (196-96) notched 24 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots) to lead the effort and Croatian forward Zoran Vrkic (203-87, agency: SDJ Sports) supported him with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Even 29 points and 9 rebounds by the former international center Ebrahim Beigi (211-94) did not help to save the game for Raad. Point guard Hamed Beigi (188-95) added 4 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Raad's coach Jamal Seyfi already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Exxon SC moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Shahrdari BA. Raad lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Army. Exxon SC will meet Toufarghan (#10) in the next round. Raad will play against Shahrdari Q. and hope to secure a win.
