Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Arabi (#2) and Al Ahli (#1). Al Ahli was smashed at home by 22 points 70-92 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Al Arabi made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Al Arabi had a 29-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. Algerian forward Mohamed Harath (198-90) had a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Bosnian-Serbian power forward Miroslav Todic (205-85) chipped in 24 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Four Al Arabi players scored in double figures. Al Arabi's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Seydou Ndoye responded with 26 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Jeff Newberry (188-92, college: Oklahoma St.) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 assists. Al Arabi will meet at home Al Wakrah in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Al Ahli will play against Al Khor and hope to win that game.
